Submissions for the 2019 summer Playground Series are now closed. Thank you to all who applied.

Stay tuned. We'll announce the line-up soon!

Pipeline-Collective announces its third Playground Series, scheduled for July 21-24!

Pipeline's Playground Series invites actors, playwrights, and performing artists to share their work with the Nashville community. Playground performances will be scheduled around Pipeline's mainstage production in the Belmont Black Box Theatre. The goal is to make "dark nights" a thing of the past by creating more opportunities for Nashville's hungriest theatremakers to make theatre.

You are:
-
Someone with creative passion and a great idea for a simple, low-tech production – this can be a play, a night of improv, slam poetry, a staged reading, a music performance, etc.
-
Willing to put in the work to prepare for your big night(s). You’ll need to manage rehearsals, secure production rights, and spread the word to your friends and family.
-
Available for rehearsal time in the space prior to the event.
-
Ready to play!
Pipeline will:
-
Co-produce your work.
-
We'll host you in our rental venue. Please note that this summer, Pipeline will be producing in the Belmont Black Box Theatre, configured for an in-the-round seating arrangement.
-
We’ll provide marketing support, including social media, web-hosted content, and show programs.
-
We’ll work with you to build basic light and sound cues.
-
We'll provide a board op and front-of-house staff, as well as insurance for your time in the space.
-
If you’d like to work with members of Actors’ Equity, we'll liaise with AEA on your behalf.
-
Depending on availability and technical needs, you’ll get up to three hours of in-space rehearsal and tech time.
-

The fine print:
-
The submission deadline is June 3. All submissions will receive a response from Pipeline by June 10.
-
Your production must utilize Pipeline’s existing theatre configuration. In addition, there may be minimal scenic elements from our mainstage production that you will need to work around and/or incorporate into your show.
-
You will incur any production-related expenses not covered by the “Pipeline will” terms above.
-
All Playground shows will be Pay What You Can, collected at the door. Pipeline will evenly divide your event’s gross proceeds with you.
-
Depending on the estimated length of your project, Pipeline may partner you with other projects to fill out the night.
-
Pipeline is the final arbiter of all submissions and proposals.
-
Your submission confirms your acceptance of these terms and your availability. If Pipeline selects your project for the Playground Series, be ready to play!
